Own workspaces. Don't be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you.The easiest way to access to the customize menu is by right clicking on the quick access toolbar which is at the top left corner of the screen and then selecting customize. Here you'll be able to add or remove tools as you see fit.Practice RegularlyLike any skill, the more you practice AutoCAD, the better you'll get. Try drawing different things, experiment with commands, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. I sometimes find myself just doodling in AutoCAD, and it really does help to improve my speed and familiarity with the software.Common Mistakes to AvoidNot Using LayersOne of the biggest mistakes beginners make is not using layers. Layers help keep your drawing organized and make it easier to work with complex designs. Trust me, you don't want to end up with a drawing that has thousands of objects all on one layer. It's a nightmare to edit.Ignoring UnitsAnother common mistake is ignoring units. AutoCAD lets you set the units for your drawing, which is crucial for accuracy. Whether you're working in inches, feet, or meters, make sure your units are set correctly before you start drawing.I've made this mistake before—drawing an entire floor plan in inches instead of feet. It was a mess. So learn from my mistakes, always check your units!Forgetting to SaveThis might seem obvious, but it's easy to forget to save your work. AutoCAD has an autosave feature, but it's not foolproof. Get in the habit of saving your drawing regularly to avoid losing your progress.Real-World ExamplesArchitectural Floor PlanLet's walk through creating a simple architectural floor plan. This will give you a chance to practice many of the commands we've discussed. Start by setting your units to feet and inches. Create layers for. Understanding the AutoCAD Workspace. I have updated and reinstalled the software to no effect. Going in to the view panel displays no options for me to even select a viewcube (please see attached image). I have tried the NAVVCUBE and Cube commands and each time I get the "unknown command" feedback. I have my navigation bar which works fine. However I also am missing my 3d modelling option. Whether by right clicking and going to options (see image 2) or by going to the workspaces tab there are no options for 3d modelling which I suspect might be tied together.
