Mar 18, 2023 12:54 PM in response to Gibbyfive Press shift+cmd+G to open the Finder's Go To Folder panel. Paste the following into it:~/Library/SafariLocate the current Bookmarks.plist file and rename it to Bookmarks.plist.bak. If you have a good copy of a Bookmarks.plist that contains what you are currently missing, then just drag and drop it ito the currently opened Safari folder as Bookmarks.plist. You are done and the next Safari launch should present what you expect. However, if you don't have that Safari Bookmarks.plist you can retrieve it from Time Machine. In the Favorites sidebar of that open Finder Window, click Applications, and then double-click Time Machine. This will open a Time Machine Restore interface that will be currently open to that Applications folder. Since these are not true Finder windows in that Time Machine panel, you can't issue the Go To Folder sequence as before, so you will need to click the Favorites panel item bearing your user name, and then double-click the Library folder, and then double-click the Safari folder. You would now see all of the content for your Safari folder.Go back in time, either with the adjacent arrow button, or the right-hand time scale to where you had a good Bookmarks.plist. Select it and click Restore. It will be deposited into your Safari folder and when you launch Safari, things should be back to normal.
