Is it just me (Win7x64 Pro SP1 and XP PRO SP3) — or did Avast’s AdBlocker extension “disappear” from [and thereby stop working in] today’s Firefox 21 update??? system May 14, 2013, 10:24pm 2 …me too Win Vista 64bit/SP2/Avast Free/FF 21.0 Same here . . . Updated Firefox to version 21.0 and no more AdBlocker . . . I just updated FF to Version 21 but I don’t use Avast’s AdBlocker. I use AB+, an extension in FF. system May 15, 2013, 12:03am 5 Software Updater also reports Mozilla Firefox’s new version as v 20.0.1 - (Guess everything takes time to be updated.)I checked thinking FX v 21.0 had made a change to their “Options” folder, but do not see anything about Avast! Ad Blocker being removed. Avast! Ad Blocker always had appeared as a Firefox “Add-On” prior to FX v 21.0Ron - W3FSY system May 15, 2013, 12:07am 6 This is completely normal behavior. Give them time to update. Firefox just go updated today. You can use ABP instead anyways. It also has more features and customizations. Norton fans are always complaining when the Norton toolbar does not work as soon as new version of there browser comes out. A week later its fixed. Simion May 15, 2013, 12:20am 7 No, it’s not. Firefox 21.0 Beta has been out for six weeks now, the dev builds even longer. Besides, why do my other 14 extensions work if this is normal? ??? system May 15, 2013, 12:30am 8 It is normal. Check the Symantec forums. Check Kaspersky forums. Why make it such an issue when you can just use Ad Block Plus extension on its own. The minute a new version of Firefox or Chrome comes does not mean that Avast has to be on top of it. Gezzz. I DISC-FF Forum Picture Thread! Post Reply. There are no changers in wide use that can select the disc side to play, and the eject-style carousels, such as Dacal, hand you the disc anyway. You decide which side to play manually. 2025-04-01Home Forums Games Game Modding Call of Duty: World at War Modding You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 Hey all, this is program that I made that allows you to extract any World at War fastfile. It uses the same code as FF Viewer to build a list of raw files. (Credit to: James Blandford) It can also open COD4 fastfiles too! 2025-04-02Feel like the Symantec forums all over again. Simion May 15, 2013, 12:42am 9 Well, my 14 other extensions (mostly security related) managed to be ready for Firefox 21.0 release, and that’s a fact, not BS and excuses. ky331 May 15, 2013, 12:50am 10 In my opinion, what happened here is NOT normal.First off, FF now checks its new versions for compatibility with existing add-ons, and normally advises the user of any conflicts it finds (before completing the installation)… and will show the “offending” add-on as being disabled. In contrast, what happened today:there was no warning/message from FF that an incompatible add-on had been encountered.rather than merely showing the add-on as present but disabled, the best why I can describe what happened is that FF completely “swallowed” the add-on… it’s gone from within FF! Interestingly, Avast was still showing it as being installed. Moreover, uninstalling and reinstalling it doesn’t work… it will NOT show up in FF at all [i.e., not even as being there but disabled].and its absence is not just a mirrage/oversight, as the add-on no longer works in FF.The fact that AdBlockPlus may be more comprehensive, or work better, does not mitigate what happened here. Simion May 15, 2013, 1:03am 11 Some good points, ky331. Thanks for your input. TU I don’t even bother to use Ad Blocker for Avast!. The version of Avast! Free Edition that introduced Ad blocker I simply rejected to install it. That’s my preference ky331 May 16, 2013, 12:44pm 13 Solution to Avast’s AdBlocker disappearing in FF 21:Close Firefox. Navigate to yourC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensionsfolder, locate the adblocker@avast.com.xpi file, and move (or copy) it to yourC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefoxbrowser\extensionsfolder. Open Firefox, and allow it permission to install the add-on.Note: On an x64-bit system, specify Program Files b [rather than simply Program Files ] when
