What is a good, full mirc script?

You did not change the default install directory of mIRC, you can find the directory by typing %APPDATA%/mIRC into your Windows Folder Titlebar.JSONForMirc.mrc: right click this link and "save link as..." to your mIRC directory.mTwitch.Core.mrc: right click this link and "save link as..." to your mIRC directory.mTwitch.DisplayName.mrc: right click this link and "save link as..." to your mIRC directory.mIRC SQLite: Extract the .zip file from this webpage to your mIRC directory.BlasBot.mrc : right click this link and "save link as..." to your mIRC directory.Install Required ScriptsIn mIRC, type in the following commands anywhere. Accept and run any initialization command prompts. When loading the last script (BlasBot.mrc), you will have to enter some information into input boxes that will pop up. Ignore the "unknown command" error messages that will pop up in mIRC:/load -rs JSONForMirc.mrc/load -rs mTwitch.Core.mrc/load -rs mTwitch.DisplayName.mrc/load -rs msqlite.mrc/load -rs BlasBot.mrcYou will have to exit and re-open mIRC after installing these scripts.Download and Install Desired ScriptsFor detailed information about each script, please visit the WIKI page. You can also right click the links on the WIKI (NOT THE MAIN GITHUB PAGE) and select "save link as..." and then use /load -rs scriptname.mrc just like the previous install instructions. Again, do NOT "save link as..." using the links on the main GitHub page, as they are links to the GitHub html pages! Use the WIKI!You may install as many of the games scripts as desired, as to prevent spam, most of the games are designed so that if one of them is currently being played by a user in the channel, then another game cannot be started by a user until that current game is completed.Updating ScriptsThere are multiple ways to "update" your scripts on this GitHub. IMO, the ideal way seems to take a little more effort but it is worth the time based on how some of the scripts are written and their various dependencies.Step 1: Determine what scripts actually need to be updated. "All required scripts" means all of the scripts (except for msqlite.mrc) in the "Install Required Scripts" section of this GitHub above. "Optional scripts" are any of the scripts found on the WIKI.Step 2: While mIRC is loaded, disconnect from the Twitch server (little lightning bolt in the top left).Step 3: Proceed to UNLOAD all of the scripts that you wish to update by typing in mIRC /unload -rs scriptname.mrc Note: if desired, you can see all scripts that you have loaded in mIRC by pressing ALT-R and clicking the "View" menu at the top, you can also unload/load them this way as well if you are careful and know what you're doing.Step 4: Download and overwrite (if necessary) all of your old .mrc files. full scripts mirc free download. Everything with currently available scripts. Adding them to mIRC allows them to be more widely used, but it doesn't really add a new feature that isn't already used and available. You can't outweigh built in support for those 3 options against the current scripted alternatives. Purely that noone would have to depend on 3rd party dll's nevermind the rest of the issues. Again pointing out that new users would be able to use it straight away and there would be NO comparability error. The scripted/dll'ed options currently available all fail to deliver big time. I doubt, excrept an odd couple, really uses the scripted/dll'ed options.Joined: Sep 2005Posts: 2,881Hoopy froodHoopy froodJoined: Sep 2005Posts: 2,881Voice/video support being added to mIRC itself would mean a much larger portion of IRC now have support for those, rather than a script. Even the extremely popular scripts like nonamescript have a tiny userbase in comparison to mIRC itself. Scripts would not be very widespread at all which would make finding people with a client that supports voice/video a chore. Also, if mIRC added it I could see other clients following suit. I've seen discussion forums for other clients and mIRC is very often used as something to aim for. "Add such and such like mIRC", "mIRC has blabla, please add it", etc. And with it being the most popular client, people will want to offer what mIRC has plus more.As for the script option, I have seen scripts offering emoticon and webcam support but never voice. Got a link for one of those?Regardless, I doubt very much it's an implementation that would even be in the same league as one built into mIRC itself. As for the useful features you'd like to see added, what are they? Voice, video and emoticons are all very popular suggestions on this board.

With all the new ones that you wish to update. Remember to download optional scripts from the WIKI and the required scripts from the "Install Required Scripts" section above. Do NOT download from the very top of the GitHub as those are just HTML files.Step 5: Proceed to /load -rs scriptname.mrc for all the scripts that you are upgrading. If you are updating any of the required scripts, be sure to load them in the order that they are listed in the "Install Required Scripts" section of the GitHub above. (you may need to actually be connected to the server if loading BlasBot.mrc so it can get your bot's name)Step 6: Close mIRC and restart it. If you did everything properly, then you should not have any issues.Troubleshooting / FAQIssue: User names are either blank and/or being returned as "$true" and/or other weird stuff has recently started to happen since updating scripts.Answer: The creator of the mTwitch and JSON scripts (SReject) recently updated those scripts. They now require that you are running the most recent version of mIRC. Many of the scripts that I have writen have had to be edited to work with those new versions. Therefor, all required scripts (except SQLite) need to be updated as well most other scripts on the GitHub. Update all the scripts from the "Install Required Scripts" section of this GitHub (except SQLite), as well as any other scripts that you are using from this GitHub. Again, be sure that you are also running the most recent version of mIRC. This should solve any issues.Question: How do I get rid of (unload) a script, I don't want it on my mIRC anymore!?Answer: Simply do the same as if you were loading the script from the instructions above, just replace /load with /unload.Question: How do I "update" a script from this GitHub?Answer: They are multiple ways. I recommend unloading the script that you wish to update (see question above). Then download the updated script and overwrite the old one. Then /load in mIRC as you originally did when you first installed the script.Issue: The scripts are not responding to my commands or do not appear to work at all.Answer: Please be sure that you are right clicking the scripts on the WIKI and choosing "save as..." rather than using the main GitHub page, as the links on the main page are links to html pages. If you know what you're doing, you can also just download the zip file of all the scripts using the link on the GitHub page and load those files into mIRC. Always be sure that you are running the LATEST versions of the scripts on the GitHub as well,

OPHoopy froodJoined: Feb 2003Posts: 2,812Brief ...mIRC settings are stored in the file mirc.ini and a few other .ini files in the same folder. These settings files, as well as any scripts and chat logs, will normally be stored in one of two places:- Your user application data folder.- The mIRC program files install folder. Here's how it works ...When you install mIRC normally, using the recommended installer settings, the program will be installed separately from your application settings, scripts, logs and other user data. When you install mIRC using the Portable install option, then the program and data will be stored together in the same location. You can also manually change this behavior by moving files around your harddrive after mIRC has already been installed, by either separating these files or by bringing them together yourself.Getting into technicalities ...When mIRC sees the file mirc.ini in the same folder as mirc.exe, then mIRC will use that settings file and all the other settings, scripts and logs at that location.Failing the above, then mIRC will look in your user application data directory for \mIRC\mirc.ini and use the settings and files at that location instead.Failing both of the above, then mIRC will create a new application data folder for mIRC with a new mirc.ini file, servers.ini file, and other default settings. In modern versions of Windows, the directory paths of concern are:- "C:\Program Files (x86)\mIRC" (Program Files folder containing mirc.exe and mirc.chm, etc)- "C:\Users\MadGoat\AppData\Roaming\mIRC" (Application Data folder containing mirc.ini and servers.ini, etc)Some troubles that people find themselves in ...Windows doesn't let normal user-level software perform any write operations to the C:\Program Files*\ folders. Only applications Run As Administrator can normally write and make changes to files under that path. This protects programs from virus infection. If you install mIRC as a Portable Install to your Program Files folder, then mIRC can't save or make changes to settings, servers, logs etc, since the path is write protected. So never use the Portable install option when installing to C:\Program Files*\.Portable Installs should be placed in a directory path like one of these:- "C:\mIRC"- "C:\Portable\mIRC"- "C:\Users\MadGoat\mIRC"- "E:\mIRC" (USB stick or portable harddisk)- "Z:\DropBox\mIRC" (Cloud storage)How to fix a bad situation ...Try and locate all of the mirc.ini files on your harddrive. Either navigate to the Program Files and Users AppData folders mentioned above, or use a search utility software. With mIRC running, you can type these two commands that should open both

Ways to communicate with people. That will make mIRC's usefulness improve threefold. Adding emoticons would give it a bit of a more modern interface and help it look like it doesn't belong on windows 95.Joined: Oct 2004Posts: 8,330Hoopy froodHoopy froodJoined: Oct 2004Posts: 8,330A very large number of mIRC users use scripts of one form or another. Additional scripting options or improvements allows those who know how to script to make more/better scripts for the average user to use. That can offer more choices and features in the long run than a single additional feature. All 3 options (video/voice/emoticons) are available through scripts, so it is possible to do everything with currently available scripts. Adding them to mIRC allows them to be more widely used, but it doesn't really add a new feature that isn't already used and available. As I've said, if it's optional, I don't care about them being added. But, I'd rather see other things added that would be more useful.Invision Support#Invision on irc.irchighway.netJoined: Apr 2004Posts: 759Hoopy froodHoopy froodJoined: Apr 2004Posts: 759Not having a go at you Riamus i know your position on this but a couple of your comments strike me as very odd.A very large number of mIRC users use scripts of one form or another. Additional scripting options or improvements allows those who know how to script to make more/better scripts for the average user to use. That can offer more choices and features in the long run than a single additional feature. For one webcam/voice support is meant to draw new people to mIRC who have no clue about scripting and secondly i think there are vast numbers of people on mIRC that have NO clue about a scripting feauture being even available. All 3 options (video/voice/emoticons) are available through scripts, so it is possible to do
