Ghost Boot Disk 1. Ghost Boot Disk Posted May 17, 2019 04:11 PM I am trying to image a new system or empty HD by booting to it using a boot disk. However when it boots I receive a "Please remove the Boot Media and Click OK" message. Behind it I can see Symantec DAgent Service Status: Client Record Updated and the server details.I have seen in some videos the PC will pop up in GSS and the user can deploy that way or use GhostCast Server. What could I be missing? 2. RE: Ghost Boot Disk Posted May 20, 2019 10:05 AM So if you have the dagent service running (this is good) then it is waiting for your ghost server to assighn a job to it. This boot disk you have made is a ghost agent boot disk if you will. If you wanted the ghost GUI to load you will want to use the other boot disk creatror, It is confusing we have 2 boot wizards, Standard tools loads the ghost GUI when booted (makes a traditional ghost boot disk) agent/automation boot disk. Loads the agent and talkes to the console. RE: Ghost Boot Disk Posted May 20, 2019 04:22 PM I assume the Agent/Automation boot disk should enable the PC to be seen from the console? The console doesn't recognize the PC I have used the Agent/Automation boot disk. 4. RE: Ghost Boot Disk Posted May 20, 2019 06:46 PM Correct if the agent is listed as running there is a gui that pops up with some info like IP, mac, the server's info that it is talking to stuff like that. when you boot up what does it show on the agent? does it list it's info correctly and is the server it is reaching out to correct? 5. RE: Ghost Boot Disk Posted May 22, 2019 03:57 PM The agent does show all the correct information for the server. 1. ghost boot disk error creating bootable iso Posted Nov 14, 2008 04:44 PM Trying to make a bootable DVD with the .GHO image on the DVD.Process goes through all steps and starts creating the ISO file, but about 2 GB in to the file creation the boot wizard throws an error that it can't create iso file and to make sure that disk is able to be written to.I don't understand that because it's obviously writing at least 2 GB worth to the folder.I also want to be able to have this DVD automatically restore the image without user interaction. What switches/parameters would I need to modify the bat file with? 2. RE: ghost boot disk error creating bootable iso Posted Nov 15, 2008 04:54 AM I recall there was a problem in GBW creating ISO over 2GB in size. Build 2141 should have resolved it. Have you run Live update to get Live update 2?You do not need to write ISO and then use 3rd party software to record it to DVD. You can record DVDs directly from GBW in GSS 2.5. 3. RE: ghost boot disk error creating bootable iso Posted Nov 17, 2008 10:02 AM I did update this weekend to the new build and now there is no problem building the iso over 2 GB.I'm still looking for help with the switches I would need to add to the batch files on the DVD for automatic image restore without user interaction, if that is possible. 4. RE: ghost boot disk error creating bootable iso Posted Nov 17, 2008 02:58 PM Please refer to ghost implementation guide for full list of command line parameters. In a nutshell to restore a disk image to disk 1: -clone,mode=restore,src=my.gho,dst=1 -batch -sure.You can specify any additional parameters in Ghost boot wizard on the last 'review' page just before creating any boot packages. Click 'start editing' button.Cheers.
