Last Updated on August 21, 2024 by Samuel FranklinThis guide to the Berserker will allow you to unlock the potential of this reckless melee fighter within Gloomhaven. With an optimal build setup to balance your damage output and self inflicting damage cards this guide details your card selections, perks, enhancements and items. The Berserker (Lightning Bolts) is designed to be a character that can trade their own health to empower attacks while having many actions that change based on your current health pool that creates a tough balance for players to achieve.Table of Contents:– Berserker Cards, Perks, Enhancements and Items Overview – Berserker Cards Detailed– Berserker Perks Detailed– Berserker Enhancements Detailed– Berserker Items DetailedGloomhaven Berserker Guide OverviewIn this summary portion of the Berserker guide I provide my recommendations for a template to follow that is suited to most Gloomhaven situations. It creates a well rounded Berserker that relies on their own cards for success as much as possible to remove the variance of team composition by using a playstyle that self inflicts damage from time to time when it is to our advantage and has cards that can take advantage of the natural decreases in our health pool as a scenario progresses.Berserker Cards OverviewLevel 1: Remove Glass Hammer, Blood Pact and Resolute Stand to create your starting deck of cardsLevel 2: Break The Chains replaces From The BrinkLevel 3: Spiked Armour replaces Growing RageLevel 4: Flurry of Axes replaces Numb the PainLevel 5: Shiny Distraction (level 4 card) replaces Bounce BackLevel 6: Devil Horns replaces CauterizeLevel 7: Burning Hatred replaces Flurry of AxesLevel 8: Bone Breaker replaces Defiance of DeathLevel 9: Maw of Madness replaces Shiny DistractionBerserker Perks Priority OverviewRemove two -1 cardsReplace one -1 card with one +1 card (take twice)Remove four zerosAdd one +2 fire card (take twice)Replace one +0 card with one rolling +2 card (take twice)Add one rolling stun card (take twice)Add one rolling +1 disarm card (take twice)Add two rolling heal +1 cardsAdd two rolling wound cards (take twice)Ignore negative item effectsBerserker Enhancements Priority OverviewAdd Jump to the bottom of Spiked Armour or to the bottom of Dazing WoundAdd Attack to the top of Burning HatredAdd Wound to the top of Unbridled PowerAdd additional target to the top of Break the ChainsBerserker Items Priority OverviewMinor Stamina PotionIron HelmetCloak of InvisibilityBoots of StridingMinor Healing PotionWar HammerGloomhaven Berserker Guide DetailedThis detailed portion of the Berserker guide outlines some alternative paths for the Berserker player given this class has many great card choices.Berserker Cards DetailedThe Berserker card choices discussed here give the player a balanced character that doesn’t assume significant party support to achieve our goals of managing our health pool and damage output. This leaves plenty of room to adjust to party size and dynamics as necessary with these factors noted below in detail while also building on the reasons behind my recommendations in the overview section.Starting Cards: Like many Gloomhaven characters we have some flexibility in the starting card choices for the Berserker based on your A calculator for Gloomhaven perks. calculator card chance gloomhaven perks. With this in mind your general priority should be obtain a source of jump as this adds some great flexibility to our melee playstyle and is relatively cheap for the benefit it can provide given we already have enough base movement available from our cards. After this point the Berserker doesn’t really need anything to support but some additional base attack, additional wound and targets on our core cards are the ones that provide the best available value. Other potential options not noted in the overview section could include strengthen on the bottom of Furious Aid if you have held onto this heal until level 9 as recommended here as your team lacks adequate healing.Berserker Items DetailedFrom the starting item options the Berserker has access to several core items including the Iron Helmet, Boots of Striding and the Cloak of Invisibility. While the cloak may seem like an odd choice for a melee focused hero who usually favour the shield focused heavy armours that make use of the ignore negative item effect perks the Berserker benefits greatly from aggressive plays with Burning Hatred and Flurry of Axes before going invisible and retreating the following round which is where jump is also nice to have.Beyond this point of non starter items we want to pay attention to items that provide healing, add area of effect elements to our melee attacks or allow us to buff our attacks with extra damage. For information and build guides on other Gloomhaven character options visit our Gloomhaven classes overview and the related Gloomhaven class tier list.

Games)Although it emphasizes speed and accessibility, that doesn't mean the iconic card-based combat is gone in Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs. Each attack card still has two abilities on it for players to choose from, but this time you only have a hand of four cards overall. The battle will then be resolved "using a die in conjunction with a modifier table." Naturally, all of the above can be leveled up as you go (anyone worried that it wouldn't be a 'proper' RPG can rest easy).Buttons & Bugs has been designed by Joe Klipfel (who made a free, no-table-needed version of Gloomhaven called Gloomholdin’) and Nikki Valens, a designer who worked on Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition. It features an original campaign by Gloomhaven creator Isaac Childres as well, so dives further into the world he created. There's no release date yet for Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs, but it's hitting the Backerkit crowdfunding platform now and will apparently launch at retail for $19.99 afterward. There's been plenty of Gloomhaven-adjacent happenings recently; for starters, a Gloomhaven second edition was revealed with "fully rewritten campaign" and new reputation system. Frosthaven also arrived with backers a few months ago, and you can check out our Frosthaven first impressions here.Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Games Store free games should be especially exciting. Epic Games Store Free Games September 2022 Spirit of the North (September 15 - September 22) The Captain (September 15 - September 22) ARK: Survival Evolved (September 22 - September 29) Gloomhaven (September 22 - September 29) ARK: Survival Evolved is a multiplayer game where players are challenged to survive in a hostile world populated by dinosaurs and monsters. Compared to some other survival games on the market, ARK has shown serious longevity, developing dedicated fanbase who have been building bases and fighting and taming dinosaurs for years. Now Epic Games Store users who have yet to play ARK can see what all the fuss is about without paying a dime. Gloomhaven, meanwhile, is the video game version of the tabletop game of the same name. Offering solo and online co-op options, Gloomhaven earned mostly positive reviews when it first launched for PC in 2021. A console version of Gloomhaven is set to release in 2023 at some point, but Epic Games Store users will be able to play the game for free on starting September 22. Once ARK: Survival Evolved and Gloomhaven are made free on September 22, the next set of free games will be revealed. Epic Games Store users can expect the free games to continue throughout 2022, so there should be plenty more free titles for fans to claim.
