I'm currently downloading a lot of files over bit torrent because I would like to just help out and reseed (Debian, Ubuntu, Xubuntu isos). I'm downloading them now because I have good download bandwidth and free time, but I've got an external drive coming in a few weeks. I'd like to move all those files from my array to the external and then keep seeding (possibly using a different computer). Is it possible to move the files (I'm saving the .torrent files too) and keep seeding without having to re-download the whole file?BTW, I'm using qBittorrent. asked May 2, 2014 at 3:59 Yes. If you open/load the .torrent file in qBittorrent (or any client, for that matter), and set the save path to the directory containing the file you already downloaded, then qBittorrent will see that a file of the same name exists and that all pieces of the file have already been downloaded. It will then proceed to seed the file. This feature is also beneficial if you have a partially-downloaded file and want to download the remainder of the file through bittorrent, but don't want to start from the beginning. answered May 2, 2014 at 4:02 saiarcot895saiarcot89510.9k2 gold badges37 silver badges39 bronze badges 7 You must log in to answer this question. 2025-04-07Autobrrautobrr redefines download automation for torrents and Usenet, drawing inspiration from tools like trackarr, autodl-irssi, and flexget. We've combined the best of these worlds into one versatile tool that can do it all, and then some. We also have a light theme. Check it out here.DocumentationFull documentation can be found at of ContentsWhat Is Autobrr?Key FeaturesAvailable Download Clients and ActionsRSS and Usenet SupportInstallationSwizzinSaltboxQuickBoxShared SeedboxDocker ComposeDistroless docker imagesWindowsMacOSLinux GenericEnvironment VariablesCommunityContributingCode of ConductLicenseWhat Is Autobrr? What is autobrr, and how does it fit into the ecosystem? We can start by talking about torrent trackers (hereby referred to as indexers) and maintaining ratio. You are requiredto maintain a ratio with most indexers. Ratio is built by seeding your torrents. The earlier you're seeding a torrent, the more peers you make yourself available to on that torrent.Software like Radarr and Sonarr utilizes RSS to look for new torrents. RSS feeds are updated regularly, but too slow tolet you be a part of what we call the initial swarm of a torrent. This is where autobrr comes into play. Many indexers announce new torrents on their IRC channels the second it is uploaded to the site. autobrr monitors suchchannels in real time and grabs the torrent file as soon as it's uploaded based on certain conditions (hereby referredto as filters) that you set up within autobrr. It then sends that torrent file to a download client of your choice viaan action set within the filter. A download client can be anything from qBittorrent and Deluge, to Radarr and Sonarr,
2025-04-10This, if two files are adjacent and you choose to download only one of them, it is likely that the filtered one will be partially downloaded and thus appear on the hard-disk.Low performance despite high or 100% disk usage on Windows (also with external drives)Try disabling MSI mode for that drive see this Microsoft forum page answer. For external drives, you may need to shuck them and use them as internal drives. Or just get a new motherboard/PCIe card with better SATA controllers.See also this issue comment.Only one tracker is working. The others aren't contacted yetTick Tools → Options... → Advanced → Always announce to all trackers.Seeding torrents have no priority (i.e. queue position), why?qBittorrent is handling torrent seeding priority by itself in order to optimize sharing and benefit to the swarm as much as possible. What do the different colors mean?qBittorrent uses 2 sets of colors depending if you're using a dark theme or not. Here is the list (github doesn't allow changing the text color):Light theme:Forest Green (rgb(34, 139, 34)) for torrents in downloading, forced downloading or downloading metadata statusBlack for torrents in allocating or stalled(up and down) statusRoyal Blue (rgb(65, 105, 225)) for torrents in uploading or forced uploading statusSalmon (rgb(250, 128, 114)) for torrents in paused(downloading) statusDark Blue (rgb(0, 0, 139)) for torrents in completed (paused seeding) statusRed (rgb(255, 0, 0)) for torrents in error or missing files statusTeal (rgb(0, 128, 128)) for torrents in queued, checking, queued for checking or checking resume data statusDark theme:Lime Green (rgb(50, 205, 50)) for torrents in downloading, forced downloading or downloading metadata statusGray 80 (rgb(204, 204, 204)) for torrents in allocating or stalled(up and down) statusSteel Blue 1 (rgb(99, 184, 255)) for torrents in uploading or forced uploading statusSalmon (rgb(250, 128, 114)) for torrents in paused(downloading) statusSteel Blue 3 (rgb(79, 148, 205))
