This now appears not to be the case. The old printer allowed us to select 2 sided orginal and scan one side then the other and the software resorted the pages. The Envy appears to only allow single sided scanning with no option to do 2 sided scanning at all.Anyone got any ideas how to reolves this? 1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION ShlomiL 34,823 14,510 5,790 1,518 Level 17 ‎10-12-2016 10:35 AM HP Recommended Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Permalink Print Flag Post Hi,While the HP Photosmart 7520 offers Auto ADF Duplexing (auto 2 sided scanning of an original), the Envy 7640 do not offer a such but only 2 sided printing, as listed by its specifications below: may download and install HP Scan Extended below as a workaround: HP scan Extended you may perform manual 2 sided scanning, it will guide you to reload the 2nd side into the ADF. I understand that you have an HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer and are unable to install it on your Win10 computer as the drivers appear to be unavailable. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: Are you trying to connect the printer wirelessly or via USB?Are you trying to install the drivers from the disk or from the HP website?NOTE: If you're going to connect the printer via USB, then do not connect it initially. Begin the installation first and later there will be a prompt to connect the printer. That's when you may connect the printer.Meanwhile, I did some research and found that the drivers for Win10 are available at the HP website. You may download and install the full featured drivers from this link. If the issue persists then I suggest to uninstall any existing printer drivers from the root level. The following steps will help:In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.Select your HP printer.Select Uninstall.In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.Type printui.exe /s and click OK.Click on Drivers tab.Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.Select OK.Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.Close Devices and Printers.You may download and install the drivers from the link provided above. I had no problems setting it up except for alignment issues that eventually got solved. Then I tried to print a picture and all colors printed except magenta. I tried all three steps cleaning the cartridges but still no magenta.I have tried all the other troubleshooting tips in the HP sheet. I have no other cartridges to try and don't want to buy a new one as Instant Ink cartridges have been ordered. But I do need to use this printer right away. It does seem like I need to replace the cartridge. But that's $25 and I'm trying to decide if that's worth it. I just took the printer out of the box for the first time.
