Thread starter iceblade Start date Nov 28, 2022 You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 This is probably a stupid question but I would appreciate any assistance. I already have a Switch (V2) but like the V1 before it, I find that it is uncomfortable for handheld use, and I'd say my usage is about 90% handheld. I already have a Skull & Co grip on it but while it is more comfortable the entire setup, case included, winds up being rather bulky. When I sold my V1, I opted for a V2 because of the battery life and because I wanted to have the option of docking. I also liked the fact that the joycons are detachable in case of drift.I've found a gently used Switch Lite for $225 with a micro SD card and a game (Animal Crossing) and am seriously tempted to jump in. What tempts me is that it isn't far off the size of the Vita Slim (a perfect size for handheld play IMO) and it seems to be much more comfortable. However it is spending extra money on something I technically already have. Either way I will keep both units, but relegate the V2 to docked only. Would this be a worthwhile idea or?Please no recommendations for the OLED though. I don't feel comfortable with the tech over the very long term, and I don't think it will solve the issues I have with the system. #2 i only have the lite and it's impossibly good for bedtime playingmy hands are fairly medium sized though, def not on the big sidenot sure about sharing saves on both consoles though #3 Would you consider a grip?Nevermind. Missed that sentence in the OP. #4 As someone who owned the Lite as their primary Switch (with big ass hands), I ended up moving to the regular and getting rid of my Lite. I miss it so much. It's light and comfy, even for me. I would hold off for now. Who knows what Nintendo has planned for next year as far as consoles. #5 Don't the Switch Lites also suffer from stick drift? I wouldn't want to make that replacement any less convenient than it already is for such a minor improvement. To say nothing of the expense involved with buying an entirely separate system… #6 As someone who owns an OG Switch and a

Reasonably expect it to behave differently vs the V2 I have. It's too long, and the OLED is apparently heavier. I can appreciate that it has a better screen, more memory, and several other things to make it worthwhile, but I already feel like the Switch is bulky to begin with, and more so with the case. I'm with you on Switch ergonomics not being excellent. #32 As someone who bought one while also owning a regular switch, I don't think it's worth it at all. Like I used it quite a bit the first couple months, but found the smaller screen size and the release of the switch oled to completely kill my enjoyment of the handheld only device. #33 Instead of a grip, have you tried more ergonomic joycon alternatives like Hori's Split Pad line? The Hori Split Pad Pro is also rather bulky but they also just released the smaller Split Pad Fit. This might be what you want instead of a new console with a smaller screen. Unlike your grip it also offers bigger buttons and sticks (and a proper dpad as well as back buttons) than the Switch itself which also improves ergonomics I feel. #34 In 2020, the cooling fan on my Switch was going bad and replacement parts were backlogged. Switch units were also pretty scarce at the time, but Lites were in stock everywhere. So I caved and bought a Lite while I waited for my replacement fan. It's now my primary unit for portable play. The only reason I use my OG Switch in handheld mode is if it's the one I want to bring with me or if I want to play a game on TV most of the time but it doesn't support cloud saves. Juturna Attempted to circumvent ban with alt account #35 I had this line of thought a few years back...traded my launch switch in for a switch lite. I found it too small for my hands and ended up trading the lite back in for a regular switch, and then threw a split pad pro on it. #36 Never. If you close the game when you're done it will upload to the cloud and download to the other Switch within a minute. I actually timed it because I was worried about this too lol.I emphasize close because I found it wouldn't upload the save if the game was still running. Even if the Switch was in sleep mode. I could see issues arising from this if you don't make it a point to close the game when you want to go to the other system. Does the second switch download it immediately in sleep mode? Or
