Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Ringtone was not copied because duration too long... duration 0:01. Too long? I used Audacity to trim WAV files and exported to an M4A format, then converted to M4R and tried to drag and drop to my iPhone 8 Plus with iTunes, both updated to the latest versions. iTunes tells me the duration is too long even though it's one second long. Any ideas folks? iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12 Posted on Apr 28, 2019 6:57 AM Similar questions Trouble adding an m4r file under "Tones" in iTunes (using a Windows Computer) Hi. I want to add a custom ringtone to my phone by adding it manually to Tones in iTunes while my phone is connected to the computer. I've followed the typical procedure for this method in that I converted some MP3 files into AAC files. Then, I copied them into my file explorer and converted them from M4A files to M4R files. Next, I connected my iPhone to the computer to sync with iTunes. But in dragging the M4R files into Tones (under my device) nothing really happens. You see an "uploading files" action happening above, but no file actually appears here. It doesn't appear in "Ringtones" on my phone either. It does the same thing when I copy-paste via keyboard shortcut (Ctrl C/V) and when manually pasting it in via the Edit tab.Really weird it's not working because I had no problem with this years ago on an iPhone 4S. Appreciate any advice you may have here.Other stuff: I know about the GarageBand method, but it clips the audio I have when putting it in; I'd like to have the full audio clip (39s). When I set my text tone to tones purchased in the iTunes Store, my phone sporadically goes back to the default out of nowhere. I have tried syncing my phone with the cable and making sure the tones were downloaded to iTunes and it continues to happen. Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Much like everyone else. I have recently updated to iTunes 12.7 and iOS 11. I am liking the new iOS and everything. I have done some reading about this issue I am about to explain. So first off, let me say that I wouldn't have come to the community if i wasn't out of ideas. I have an iPhone 6s Plus, and an iPad mini 2 that are both using iOS 11. In which I did sign up for the beta of iOS 11 on both my iPad and iPhone. Where I am stuck though is. I am able to add ringtones to my iPad, but not my iPhone. Like I stated previously. I have done all kinds of research into this matter and have come up empty handed. I do understand that iTunes 12.7 no longer supports tones but that you can still manually add them. That is exactly what I did to put them on my iPad. I tried to do the same to my iPhone and it just would not go. I compared the settings between the two devices and they are the same. Then with my phone I even went as far as resetting all the settings. I have power cycled my phone. I have open and closed iTunes a number of times. I have restarted my computer. I have tried to even reinstall iTunes. Yet, whenever I attempt to drag a m4r tone into my tones file on my phone I get the little circle with a slash through it. A little, no go sign. Not that this will make much difference. I also have a 5th gen iPod that I am still able to add tones to as well. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know cause this is really beginng to irritate me. iPhone 6s Plus, null Posted on Sep 19, 2017 10:43 AM iTunes 12.7, iOS 11, with iPhone 6s Plus
