This is useful when using lots of Mods and Texture Packs.Why use this tool, when there are 4GB patch tools and PE Editors you might ask? Well the Steam envelope for the FalloutNV.exe does not tolerate any tampering and will error out if you modify it that way, so this tool was created by MonochromeWench to get around that limitation. It is recommended to copy the FNV4GB.exe and fnv4gb_helper.dll to the New Vegas installation directory. Doing so will allow the tool to work with ENB, SweetFX, FXAA injector and other such utilities with a minimum of hassle. However it is not necessary (YMMV).Create a shortcut to FNV4GB.exe and place it on your desktop, pin it to your task bar, or copy it to your quick launch bar. First, make sure you have launched the game with the default launcher AT LEAST ONCE after setting up your graphics options or the program will NOT function properly.Make sure Steam is running. Then run FNV4GB.exe as Administrator to launch the game.FNV4GB will automatically load and execute NVSE if detected. If you want to use an ENB, SweetFX, or FXAA Injector you need to add the following launch options to the shortcut"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FNV4GB.exe" -laaexe .\FalloutNV4GB.exeIf you have the English Polish Czech Russian (ENPLCZRU) version of Fallout New Vegas you need to add -SteamAppId 22490 to the launch options"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FNV4GB.exe" -SteamAppId 22490If you want to use xinput1_3.dll to add controller support then you to add the following launch option to the shortcut"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FNV4GB.exe" -extradll xinput1_3.dllYou may combine launch options to allow use of multiple functions.Please visit the Fear and Loathing in New Vegas STEP page for instructions on how to use FNV4GB with Mod Organizer. The 4gb patch has been outdated ever since Skyrim's final update. It's no longer needed.What for Fallout new vegas, I know its bundled with SKSE for Skyrim, so is it the same for NVSE?? Aren't you thinking of shesons memory patch increasing first heap size aka first memory block? It was later integrated into skse and adjusted via .ini file.Skyrim was patched to max 4GB ram by bethesda (before that you needed 3rd party patch). I haven't heard of such update for fallout. ENB or Enboost will allow your game to use more than 4gb for visuals.PS: You can run all: NVSE, 4GB patch, Enb, Stutter Removal with Mod Organizer or Nexus Mod Manager easily. Launch the game with new .exe (script extender or 4gb patch) linked in the MO or NMM dropbox list. Just remember to activate all .esps / archives and update .inis before launching the game.
