In Safari with Monterey on my old MacBook Air 2017.Update: I also just did a full wipe of the MBA 2017. This has 8gb RAM and 512GB HD. I did a full erase and reinstall Mac OS. Did not load any backup or sign into iCloud. Safari is still sluggish and some sites like Instagram Reels will just crash Safari. One time watching Youtube it locked up the entire Mac and needed a force reboot. Like I said, at least Firefox works without issue but it sure ramps up the CPU when watching videos on YouTube. Yes, of course it is the last version. Apple never publishes a road map but they only update the most recent and previous two major versions of macOS. So that is 15.x, 14.x, and 13.x. I'm wanting to make sure Monterey is done before switching to Linux, or OCLP, so I have the latest firmware updates for this iMac, 17,1.In trying Sonoma on this iMac via OCLP, I find some of my older audio software such as "Amadeus Pro" work better under Monterey than Sonoma, and the alternatives I found such as Audacity, OcenAudio, etc are QT based, and since I also like KDE, have decided to just use them there. Updated to OS Monterey 12.7.6 on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) and now the Safari icon is greyed-out. When I click on it I get the message "You can’t open the application “Safari.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac."I tried restarting my iMAC but it didn't fix the problem.I don't want to switch to Google as a browser!
