Before joining ASG, Sara was a postdoctoral CIFellow at Georgia Tech, working on multimodal misinformation detection. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside where she studied misinformation detection, leveraging multilinear (tensor) algebra, along with a variety of NLP and vision. She also worked on deepfake video detection and on development of augmentation techniques in few-shot settings. In fall of 2020, Sara completed a research internship at Lenovo Research, where she worked on deep learning-based image enhancement.
