I'm using freeoffice and like it and ready to move to Softmaker officeDo I just pay and download and install the subscription over the top of the free office? Is there anything to be aware of in the upgrade install? Will it automatically uninstall the freeoffice? Or do I have to do that manually? For some reason WinRar can not read the files even in admin mode (I also tried taking an ISO. Same access Denied Error). Yet administrators have read access to that folder and all of it is inherited. There is nothing special in that folder though. To make sure, I uninstalled Softmaker Office, deleted that entire folder, reinstalled Softmaker office again. Then I did the same with FreeOffice. Still, if you want it, I will need to prepare a Linux boot drive.. or I will guidance on how to backup that folder from within Windows. TextMaker 2021(64bit) is a little slower than TextMaker Free 2018 (32bit) because of additional advanced features and difference in architecture (64/32 bit). And in your settings by default, the thumbnail view and the paragraph styles are enabled which consume additional resources and take some time in refreshing.1. And the very first thing I noticed is that selecting/deleting text is very slow on certain documents. I uninstalled Softmaker Office 2018 and went back to FreeOffice 2018 (cuz it is not possible to keep both) and the lag disappeared. I tested with the same documents.I am pretty sure certain formatting is causing this but figuring this out has been problematic.I installed the demo on a fresh Win 10 VM to ensure that it is not my OS, and sure enough, it is slow on the VM as well.Does anyone have any idea what to look for? subhasiscgr Posts: 11 Joined: Mon Apr 06, 2020 3:00 pm Re: Why is this slower than Freeoffice? For some reason this document uses autoshapes instead of text boxes. But I can not recreate this issue on a blank. And it is still blazing fast on FreeOffice.Actions that are slow: Deleting, Selecting text using shift+arrow, Typing.I attached the sample file.
