The use of the tier system and by comparing CFE units to native units. Some high tier units/weapons added might be overpowered. All banners are created by me except the Wahah Clan's banner. It was created by r/BannerlordBanners/u/SerAndreLaurent.CFE is not savegame compatible. The latest version of Vaegir Armory doesnt need the fix anymore.(Vaegir Armory needs a fix at the moment, look in CFE's or Vaegir Armory's comment section for more info.)I recommend using Custom Spawns without Calradia at War because CFE adds enough spawns on it's on.Content OverviewCalradia Factions Enhanced adds 230+ new weapons, 340+ units, 20+ factions, 50+ lords and 70+ new spawns.A majority of these new troops are added to the recruitment pool of the main factions. Each main faction (except the three empire kingdoms for the time being) gets a new clan with 4 lords each.Six of the new factions are designed like native minor factions. They can be recruited by kingdoms (not by the player), and they have 3 units each troop tree just like native and 4 lords each.Additionally they are not hostile by default, but they will declare wars.Another 9 new factions are hostile by default. They have bigger troop trees and all units can be hired at taverns around calradia (culture specific). They cannot join kingdoms as a mercenary clan, but kingdoms will recruit them from taverns. They only have one lord each, except the Danjuma and the Guang have 2 lords.Don't barter with them, it might crash the game. All 15 added minor factions have spawn parties without lords, created with Custom Spawns, they will roam different parts of Calradia. An assortment of troop trees and bandit parties that work like native bandit parties are also added. They are mostly designed like native too, three units each tree. Each culture gets 2-3 of them. An additional spawn are culture specific revolts. Each culture has a chance to spawn small and big (up to ~300 units) revolt parties. These are three unit low tier troop trees with great armour/weapon variety.CFE now has a 100% custom unit spawn ATC config by default, this means in theory the only. Jötnar of Sturgia adds a new race of troops to the Sturgian Principality, the troop tree consists of a total of 15 troops spread across tiers 2-6, as well as a new clan, and associated settlements. The goal was to incorporate giants (Jötnar plural, Jötunn singular), from Norse mythology in as lore friendly a way as possible - by building off of the fact that the Nordic people are referenced in the game, and Raganvad's mother is a Nordic princess. The Jötnar, commonly referred to by citizens of the Calradian Empire as Giants are an ancient race from the far North. Their home is a land of eternal winter called Jötunheimr, which is located to the North of the Nordic lands beyond nigh impassable mountains. They are known for their towering stature, being roughly 2-3 times the size of a man grown. While the Jötnar have not been seen in Calradia in recent times, word has spread of the turmoil of the land to Jötunheimr by way of Sturgia's Grand Prince Raganvad's mother - a Nordic princess. Intrigued at the thought of battle with the feeble southerners, she was able to secure for Raganvad their support in his war against the Empire of Calradia - prime among them being a clan known as the Sons of Fenrir led by the fearsome Valdyr.Jötnar of Sturgia adds a new race of troops to the Sturgian Principality, the troop tree consists of a total of 15 troops spread across tiers 2-6, as well as a new clan, and associated settlements. This does not require a new save and you will start to see the new troops become avaliable for recruitment over time. This module requires Adonnay's Troop Changer.Jötnar of Sturgia: Sons of Fenrir [Optional]- This module adds a new clan to the Sturgian Principality, the Sons of Fenrir, along with its members (see below for details). It also adds new settlements which belong to them, the town Fjall located to the North of Tyal, and Fenrisúlfr Castle located to the East of Sibir. This brings Sturgia up to 8 towns tying them with Vlandia and Aserai, and fills in a large empty area in their territory. This also appropriately adds some Jötnar troops to the default Sturgian lord's party template - roughlySturgian Recruit - Sturgians - Troop Types
Introduction and Credits(this mod page is pretty outdated - for some more current information visit the posts section.)CFE (Calradia Factions Enhanced) uses Calradia at War (Custom Spawns) by Anopey and the CustomSpawns Development Team to add various AI party spawns with unique units to the campaign map. CFE also adds one additional troop tree for each major faction for more troop variety. Recruiting these new units is possible thanks to ATC - Adonnay's Troop Changer by Adonnay. Using this mod without ATC and CS is possible (in theory), but the added content would be mostly unused. This method does not replace any native units and is highly customizable, look in the comment section for more information.Every unit is designed to my personal visual preference, using assets from one of our communities greatest 3d artists ADamnSexyName. His assets (Swadian armoury, Vaegir Armoury) are added to units of vlandian and sturgian culture. Open Source Armory by Areldir (and HalfMetalJacket Apolon21 Diakonus Genrev_Pogi Terco_Viejo AlphaOmegaMan Maverick_Knight Philozoraptor Basileus Balbor ) also plays a big part in the variety of CFE's troops. Lastly Vlandian Knight's Lances, by Caranthir444, is used to make vlandian lancers even more unique.CFE now uses a xml that hides most native units made by Sarissofoi for LukeDanger's De Re MilitariJust like Calradia at War, CFE adds new weapons to the game, created with the native crafting system.A great deal of time went into creating these new weapons. Forging parts together that by default 'don't fit' makes for a great variety of weaponry for many units. Inspired by historical examples and other games like Exanima CFE adds 230+ new weapons. Some of the new weapons have custom blades modelled by badger.Everything CFE adds is meant to mirror the design of native. This includes the stats of units, the structure of troop trees, design of banners, descriptions and names. (not lore friendly is the plate armour added by swadian armoury) I also tried, while adding new ways to play each faction, to keep the general feel of every faction. More scarce then regular Sturgian troops - which also fits in that there are considerably more humans than Jötnar in Sturgia. The troops were added to Sturgian Lords' default party model by replacing ~20% of Sturgian troops with same role and tier Jötnar troops - this worked out to 11/55 troops in the model. This way you will see Jötnar represented in Sturgian armies, proportionate to how many are living in Sturgia compared to humans.Jötnar of Sturgia/Jötnar SkinsThese modules are incompatible with any mod that is incompatible with Detailed Character Creation or requires you to replace the skins.xml file.Jötnar of Sturgia - Sons of FenrirThis module is not compatible with any mod that adds. Currently, when adding new settlements to Bannerlord you have to replace the entire settlements.xml and Main_map/scene.xscene files in order to add anything to them.Known IssuesWhen viewing the 3D model of the troops in the Encyclopedia or Party Screen all you will see is the lower half of their body. This is because the troops are much taller than the Vanilla human ones which the displays are designed for. I tried to edit the .xml file for these menus to see if I could zoom out or scale the display, as well as looked into potentially changing it via a .dll module but I can't figure out how to do this. If someone finds out/knows how to please let me know (I spent a whole day trying to fix this ugh). The only way to scale troops to be this large right now was to change the scale of an entire sex/age combination as the height setting is hard capped currently. In this case I chose male teenager and female teenager and replaced all of their meshes etc with the adult versions, and set all of the troops to be within the teenager age range. This shouldn't really be much of an issue as I've played the game for 200+ hours and haven't seen many teenagers, but if you do see one just think, "It's a Jötunn." One place you will see oddities is character creation as it shows your character at different ages, but that's negligible.Installation Instructions/Load Order - Tested on e1.3.0 and Beta e1.4.0.Install ATC - Adonnay's Troop Changer and follow all of his instructions.Install Detailed Character Creation and follow all associated instructions.Install !!JötnarSkins [Required]Install Jötnar of Sturgia [Required]Install Jötnar of Sturgia - Sons of Fenrir [Optional - Requires a new save for the new clan/lords/settlements.]Follow the load order listed below for mod associated modules.!!JötnarSkins*DCC Main* (Required)Native ModulesJötnar of SturgiaJötnar of Sturgia - Sons of FenrirFixing the Sturgian troop tree : r/Bannerlord - Reddit
Svíkja, for he envies what he has - but the question is would the Sons of Fenrir be willing to follow Svíkja if he made a claim? Doubtful.Samna is Valdyr's wife, and fittingly enough she is just as merciless in battle against the southerners as he is albeit with one caveat - she doesn't partake in the consumption of human flesh as she can't stomach putting that filth into her mouth. Her fighting style is focused around the use of her long bow in the vein of Skaði, so big is it that it would take half a dozen humans just to muster enough strength to pull back it's string - let alone properly loose an arrow from it. It is from this bow that she looses arrows which approach the size of man made javelins, capable of penetrating multiple humans if they were foolish enough to stand too close together.Sker is the adopted son of Valdyr, whom often views him as a disappointment - mainly due to the fact that he turned out nothing like he had hoped. Sker was adopted by Valdyr when he was only a baby, and he had hopes that he would grow up to enjoy partaking in the same things he did. But as it turns out, Sker is quite gentle and prefers to avoid conflict, even so he is so dull that he doesn't fully comprehend how sadistic his adopted father actually is - his only saving grace in Valdyr's eyes. It is in this way that Valdyr has convinced Sker to join him in playing with the southerners - also known as breaking every bone in their body with the enormous boulders he throws with such velocity that no shield or armor could protect one from the sheer blunt force of the impact. Sker is possibly one of the largest Jötunn that walks Calradia in present day, and due to this when you see him from afar you might get the impression that he is throwing pebbles at you - but once that pebble gets closer, when you're seconds away from drawing your last breath - you'll quickly realize just how wrong you were.BalanceThe troops are intended to be somewhat similar to Noble troops in terms of power and scarcity - the tree starts at Tier 2 and goes to Tier 6, and have a higher stat total than Commoner troops. Knowing this, when determining stats for each troop I looked at similar role Noble troops stat totals, and stat maxes. For example the Tier 4 Sturgian Noble Troop Varyag Veteran, has a stat total of 530, with its main offense stat of One Handed being 150, main movement stat being 110 etc. I balanced the troops by looking at stats in this way, as well as looking at what equipment the troops have.20% of Sturgian Recruits are replaced with Jötunn Recruits, and this maps to the branching higher tier troops. Their lands are divided into smaller principalities ruled by Knyaz and Boyars. At the beginning of their existence, the rulers of these principalities fought wars among themselves. Frequent armed conflicts took their toll on the people, and the plundering expeditions of the Nords plunged the country into ruin. Great Sturgia became a target from the east to the Khuzaits and to the south to an Empire that grew ever larger and stretched out for it. Weakened by fratricidal wars, the Knyazs of Sturgia gradually lost their lands. However, one of the Grand Knyaz did not want to serve the Emperor, united the principalities of Sturgia under one banner, and called himself Tsar. Launching an offensive to reclaim lost lands from the hands of the Empire. NORDSThe Nords come from a place known as Jumne, a cold, inhospitable land far to the north of Calradia. There, in the far north, is their home, from which, sailing boats across the sea and then along rivers, plundering coastal towns and villages, they even reached the Calradia Empire itself, which the emperor proposed to the invadersConspiracy Commander - Sturgian Conspiracy Troops - Troop
Will lose so many troops for nothing. While you run you do not generate rage. 1vs1 fighting is not worth it, you want your Richard to get swarmed for counterattack damage. Charles Martel’s primary active skill, ‘Shield of Francia,’ activates a shield that absorbs a massive damage factor of 1,200 for the next four seconds. It also increases troop damage by 30% while the shield is still active. If you use this pairing for defending objectives then use Charles Martel’s talent tree because it has better defending skills inside. Sun TzuSun Tzu and Richard are one is the best AOE duo for infantry because you can hit 5 targets at the same time now and with Richard heals you will have troop count high all the time so you will make more damage. Richard counterattack will help so this is the best combo if you want to tank and make a good amount of damage. So do not be scared of going in group fights with this combo. It’s a great combo for Ark of Osiris because you will have group fights all the time. For PVP and Big fights Use Sun Tzu as the primary commander because Sun Tzu talent tree will give you a lot of rage generation and bonus skill damage which you need in order to do as much damage as possible. EuljiFrom testing Richard with Eulji I can tell you that Sun Tzu will perform better than in every situation. But if you don’t have Sun Tzu max, go with Eulji. ConstantineThis is a tank and support pair. You will use Constantine as the primary commander because of the skill talent tree and Richard as the secondary commander. This is a super tanky duo and you will support troops on the field all the time.. Or more additional Armories. This adds only a handful of troop training additions and each upgrade is multiplied by the SSS multiplier and adds that number of troops to the total. Still, this is inefficient since it adds only about 30-40 troops to the total on average and uses a lot of Pop and Culture but it will increase your game score by a lot, if that matters to you. Also it uses tiles and requires moving around. As far as upgrading existing Armories goes, they should all be maxed out all of the time.2. Upgrade SSS. Each upgrade with add the total number of Armory levels to your troop training total (rune phase upgrade will add twice that amount). At mid-levels, this increase should amount to about 4%, assuming 4-5 Armories.3. Upgrade DB. Each upgrade will add 3%-9% to your troop training total (avg. 4.1%).4. Unlock all of the discretionary squad increases. I may try this, myself on 6 that have remained uncompleted in my tree. However, the DB contribution at its mid-levels is less than 1 times the squad level. Unfortunately, I cant tell ahead of time how large each increase will be, can anyone?5. Upgrade Simia Sapiens. We have not mentioned this AW. It is not based on any metric; it just adds its own bonus amount to the collection of trained troops. You will not find it in the Armory explanatory windows. The increase can be found by rolling over the Simia or by the difference in the trained troop icon in the Training window of Barracks, Mercenary Camp or Training Grounds and the slider maximum at the bottom of said window. Upgrading Simia increases training by only 1% (2% at rune phase) and is the least effective AW option. But its other attribute, decreasing Sentient decay, makes a significant difference and by itself would be a good reason to site it.Edited to remove misinformation.Comments
