2025-04-01December 26, 2014, 7:50pm 1 Most of my Visio 2013 drawings have hyperlinks to internal company documents that are related to the drawing. We are experimenting with Visio Viewer 2013, but the sales department has requested that we offer the same drawings in PDF format because it is more universal. The problem: Every time I convert the Visio 2013 drawing into PDF, none of the hyperlinks are maintained. I do have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, but that requires recreating the hyperlinks every time I convert the Visio document into PDF. Since I use Visio to create and edit the documents, that means every single change that is published means more Acrobat work to recreate the hyperlinks.According to Microsoft, the hyperlinks should convert properly but clearly they are not. Any ideas or work-a-rounds that I am not trying yet?@Adobe How are you creating the PDF documents? Export? Save As? Is the text at all selectable in the PDF? ryanhuss2743 (Ryan-Huss) December 29, 2014, 3:06pm 6 The text is there and can be highlighted, it just does not maintain the hyperlink. The shape edges are also still there. So for now, if I want the hyperlink back, I have to highlight the same area to link via Adobe Acrobat Pro and redefine the link destination. If I had only a few drawings to manage, this would be a nuisance but I would get over it. However, I have roughly 1,000 drawings being converted from Design CAD (which we used to use to publish to PDF for end users) to Visio. We are going with Visio because we like the drawing platform, but also because of the hyperlinks giving us a more centralized approach to system documentation. hiltont (HiltonT) December 29, 2014, 10:49pm 7 We have moved from Visio to EDraw Max Pro ( ) as it installs in an RDS environment without needing to be an
